The Bank of Korea follows the example of the Federal Reserve and uses a dot plot to display interest rate forecasts six months ahead.
The Bank of Korea began releasing the median forecast for the benchmark interest rate six months ahead by the policy committee on Thursday, changing the current practice of providing a three-month quantitative interest rate guidance. The Bank of Korea stated in a statement on Thursday that the new so-called dot plot will be released four times a year, in February, May, August, and November, when the central bank releases economic growth and inflation outlooks.
