On February 25, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Paul Chan Mo-po, delivered the government's budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027 at the Legislative Council. Chan Mo-po stated that the Hong Kong Tourism Board will strengthen its promotion efforts in potential source markets, including cities in mainland China beyond Guangdong province, as well as emerging markets such as ASEAN and the Middle East, to attract more overnight visitors. The Tourism Board will also actively promote more types of conferences, exhibitions, and incentive travel to be held in Hong Kong. Additionally, the Tourism Board will further attract more international cruise ships to include Hong Kong in their itinerary. Furthermore, the Hong Kong SAR Government will continue to deepen tourism cooperation with the Greater Bay Area and other provinces and cities in mainland China, and explore launching "multi-stop" itineraries with airlines to attract more overseas visitors to Hong Kong and mainland China.
