French new hypersonic nuclear missile debuts

France recently unveiled a new type of hypersonic nuclear missile, ASMPA-R, for the first time and claimed to have completed the inert warhead testing of the missile, simulating a nuclear strike operation. As an important part of France's nuclear modernization roadmap from 2024 to 2030, the ASMPA-R missile was first equipped by the French Air Force's strategic air force in 2023, and officially entered the equipment sequence of the French Navy's air force in November 2025. Currently, the "Rafale" series fighter jets equipped by the French Navy and Air Force all have the capability to launch this type of missile.
