The State Administration for Market Regulation has summoned and held discussions with 7 platform companies.
On February 13th, the State Administration for Market Regulation interviewed platform companies including Alibaba, Douyin, Baidu, Tencent, JD.com, Meituan, and Taobao Flash sale, requiring these platforms to strictly comply with the Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People's Republic of China, the Price Law of the People's Republic of China, the Law on the Protection of Consumers' Rights and Interests of the People's Republic of China, the Electronic Commerce Law of the People's Republic of China, and other relevant laws and regulations. Platforms were urged to proactively fulfill their responsibilities and further regulate their promotion and marketing activities. The relevant platform companies were reminded to eliminate all forms of "internal competition" and jointly maintain a fair competitive market environment to promote the innovation and healthy development of the platform economy.
