Recently, the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television and the Ministry of Commerce jointly issued a notice on the comprehensive pilot work of "film + consumption", announcing the first batch of 16 "film + consumption" comprehensive pilot cities, with Fuzhou listed. Yan Ningwei, the person in charge of Wanxiang Cinema, said that the "film +" policy initiated by the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television is a good opportunity for the film industry in Fuzhou. It is not only about showing movies, but also about using government subsidies to attract more people to watch movies. It encourages cinemas to collaborate with shopping malls, tourism, and restaurants, where a movie ticket can drive consumption in the surrounding areas. Cinemas can also transform from being just a place to show movies into a consumption center.
