The first part of the national standard for automotive solid-state batteries is scheduled to be released in July 2026.
Wang Fang, Chief Scientist of China Automotive Research Center, recently stated at a certain industry conference that GB/T "Solid State Batteries for Electric Vehicles Part 1: Terminology and Classification" completed the drafting of the consultation draft in December 2025, with the consultation period lasting until February 28, 2026. China Automotive Research Center will organize validation testing in January-February 2026 to further improve testing methods and confirm evaluation indicators; it is expected that the review and approval will be conducted in April 2026, and officially released in July. It is reported that this national standard will clarify the definitions of liquid batteries, hybrid solid-liquid batteries, and solid-state batteries.
