Preliminary survey data released by the University of Michigan on February 6th showed that the preliminary Consumer Confidence Index for February 2026 in the United States was 57.3, higher than the final value of 56.4 in January, but lower than the final value of 64.7 in February 2025. The University of Michigan's February Current Economic Conditions Index had a preliminary value of 58.3, higher than the final value of 55.4 in January, but lower than the final value of 65.7 in February of the previous year. The preliminary Consumer Expectations Index was 56.6, lower than the final value of 57 in January and lower than the final value of 64 in February of the previous year.
