The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States announced that they will crack down on counterfeit weight loss drugs, as remote healthcare company Hims and Hers Health began selling a significantly discounted knockoff weight loss drug the day after the agency's announcement. Hims company declared on Thursday that they will sell a cheaper version of Wegovy, a new weight loss drug by Novo Nordisk. Novo Nordisk promptly accused this action of being illegal and vowed to take legal and regulatory actions to protect patients. FDA Commissioner Matt McCary vowed to take action against companies selling counterfeit weight loss drugs.
