The Portuguese government has approved a set of emergency laws to speed up post-disaster reconstruction work, including a comprehensive aid plan totaling up to 25 billion euros. This is one of the largest-scale disaster relief efforts ever mobilized in the country, as Storms Christian, Leonardo, and Marta continue to bring ongoing flood risks. The cabinet has agreed to extend the state of emergency until February 15th.
