Musk stated in an email sent to SpaceX employees on Monday that this year Starship will begin launching V3 Starlink satellites into orbit, as well as satellites for the next generation of direct-to-mobile devices. He said these launches will act as a "driving force" to improve Starship's performance, enabling it to be reused more quickly and facilitating the deployment of data centers. Musk wrote, "The high number of satellites required for space data centers will drive Starship development to new heights. With launches every hour and carrying 200 tons per flight, Starship will transport millions of tons of goods to orbit and beyond every year, opening an exciting future for human exploration of the cosmos." Musk informed employees that launching 1 million tons of satellites per year, with each ton producing 100 kilowatts of computing power, will increase artificial intelligence computing power by 100 gigawatts per year, "without the need for ongoing operation or maintenance." Ultimately, Musk believes that launching 1 terawatt of satellites from Earth every year is feasible.
