The Tunisian government issued a statement on the 30th saying that President Saied has decided to extend the state of emergency, which was set to expire on the 30th, by 11 months until December 31. On November 24, 2015, a suicide bombing targeted a presidential guard vehicle in the city center of Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, killing 12 security personnel. Tunisia then entered a state of emergency, with a curfew briefly imposed in the capital. Since the implementation of the state of emergency that year, each Tunisian president has continued to extend it, and it has not been lifted to this day.
