This year, the Ministry of Transportation will establish 100 forward-looking national-level technology innovation platforms.

At the press conference held today by the Ministry of Transportation, spokesperson Li Ying introduced that the technology innovation platform is an important part of the national strategic technology force. The Ministry of Transportation is committed to building a well-structured, clearly positioned, and clearly defined technology innovation platform system. The first number is "3". With the approval of the Central Science and Technology Commission, the Ministry of Transportation is responsible for constructing three series of platforms: "Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Transportation", "Engineering Research and Technology Innovation Center of the Ministry of Transportation", and "Field Scientific Observation Research Station of the Ministry of Transportation". The second number is "189". By 2025, the Ministry of Transportation launched a key research project on "Improving the Layout of National Strategic Technology Forces in the Transportation Sector", considering the needs of building a strong transportation country and future development, as well as the demand for comprehensive transportation and cross-sector integration. A total of 189 platform directions have been formed. The third number is "100". According to the work arrangement, by 2026, the Ministry of Transportation will complete the layout of 100 forward-looking technology innovation platforms. Guidelines for the construction of the first batch of 40 platforms have been developed and released to the public, officially starting the platform application and construction work. The newly listed department platforms will focus on highway engineering, waterway engineering, transportation equipment, intelligence, and integration fields, aiming to break down barriers between basic research and industrial applications, solve key technical problems, and accelerate the transformation of forward-looking technological achievements into practical applications.
