The French Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority released the second edition of "French People and Information" survey report on the 29th, stating that social media, video platforms, and artificial intelligence have become the primary sources of information for people under 34. At the same time, the abundance of false information on social platforms, data security, and information overload have also become major concerns. The survey, which lasted over a month, focused on how the French people obtain information, media trustworthiness, and social media usage, covering 3377 French respondents aged 15 and above. The results of the survey show that about 44% of French people use social media to obtain information every day. Among the age group under 25, 54% rely on social media, video platforms, and artificial intelligence for information, while only 26% rely on traditional media such as television, radio, and newspapers. In the age group of 25 to 34, social media platforms still rank first, with traditional media accounting for 36%. In older age groups, the usage of the two types of media is the opposite.
