Mayor of Shenzhen, Qin Weizhong: Strengthen connection with the northern urban area of Hong Kong, the new Huanggang Port will be completed and put into use this year.

Mayor Tan Weizhong of Shenzhen City stated that in the new year, Shenzhen will actively promote deep-level exchanges and cooperation in all areas with Hong Kong in accordance with the work deployment of the provincial party committee and government to promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for long-term benefits. Specifically, Shenzhen will comprehensively strengthen the strategic alignment with the development of the Hong Kong Northern Metropolitan Area, accelerate the construction of infrastructure interconnection, and fully complete and put into operation the new Huanggang Port this year. Projects such as the CORSICA-West Cross-River Bridge and the new No. 1 Passage will be accelerated, and joint efforts with Hong Kong will be made to actively promote the planning and construction of the West Rail Line and the Northern Ring Line Branch in the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Region. Furthermore, efforts will be made to further leverage the significant platforms of Qianhai and Hetao, promote more fruitful achievements in cooperation in modern services and technology innovation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, jointly develop and build the "One River, Two Banks, One District, Two Parks" in Hetao, promote the cross-border flow of technological innovation factors, open sharing of resources, and cooperation in the technology industry, and work together to accelerate the creation of a high-quality living, working, and leisure circle, fully support Hong Kong's better integration and service the overall development of the country.
