At least nine Chinese AI chip companies have shipped over 10,000 units.
Under the strict control of chip exports, the process of localization of domestic data center AI chips is accelerating. Currently, domestic AI chips include over ten brands such as Huawei Ascend, Baidu Kunlun, Alibaba Pingtouge, and Cambrian. Research from various sources reveals that at least nine Chinese AI chip companies have shipped or have orders exceeding 10,000 units. This includes companies such as Huawei Ascend, Baidu Kunlun, which are backed by technology giants, as well as Cambrian, Muxi, IFLYTEK, Suiyuan Technology, and other AI chip companies that are listed or preparing for listing, even including Xiwang, ClearView AI which are still in the startup phase and not yet listed. Among the AI chip companies with large shipment volumes, the cumulative shipment volume has reached the level of 100,000 units. For AI chip companies with relatively small shipment volumes, such as Xiwang, ClearView AI, their shipment or order size is expected to exceed 10,000 units by 2025. The current unit price for domestic inference AI chips ranges from 30,000 to 200,000 yuan. When shipment or order volume reaches tens of thousands of units, it means that domestic AI chips have a certain market acceptance in terms of performance, stability, and total ownership cost. This not only initiates a scale competition, but also a deeper and more comprehensive competition around stability, software ecosystem, and commercialization services.
