Sudanese armed forces claim to have lifted the siege on important cities in the south.

On January 26th local time, the Sudanese armed forces announced that they had successfully lifted the long-standing siege of the second largest city, Dilling, in the South Kordofan state in southern Sudan by the Sudan Rapid Support Forces and its allies. The Sudanese armed forces stated that one of their units broke through the two-year siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces and the local armed group "Sudan People's Liberation Movement" on Dilling, and successfully entered the city to meet with their allied forces defending the city. The Rapid Support Forces have not yet responded to this development.
