Thailand implements comprehensive screening for flights from risk areas of Nipah virus.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand announced that starting from the 26th, comprehensive screening will be conducted on flights from West Bengal, India to prevent the entry of Nipah virus into Thailand. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand issued a statement on the 25th stating that the screening will be implemented from 0:00 on the 26th, and will be adjusted according to the situation. Currently, the screening includes: airlines conducting preliminary screenings at departure points in West Bengal, India. If passengers are found to have symptoms that require testing, they will be required to provide relevant proof before departure and follow public health guidelines during the flight; upon arrival in Thailand, all passengers from that area will undergo temperature checks and fill out health declaration forms. Screening points will be set up in the concourse area at the airport upon flight arrival. According to Thai media reports, there are direct flights from Kolkata, West Bengal, India to Thailand's Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and Phuket airports, and screening measures are currently being implemented at these three airports.
