According to the statistics of the Ministry of Public Security, the total number of motor vehicles in the country reached 469 million by 2025, including 366 million cars; the number of motor vehicle drivers reached 559 million, including 525 million car drivers. In 2025, there were 35.35 million newly registered motor vehicles nationwide, with 20.51 million newly licensed drivers. Among them, 26.19 million new cars were registered. The number of newly registered motor vehicles has exceeded 30 million for 11 consecutive years.
