The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a warning that some areas of Japan will continue to experience snowfall until Sunday, especially along the Japan Sea coast. It is expected that within a 24-hour period ending at 6 a.m. on Friday, the Hokuriku region could see up to 100 centimeters of snow. Several companies, including the country's largest car manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation, are taking preventive measures by suspending production at factories in affected areas. Toyota announced on Thursday that production lines for both day and night shifts at its employee, Fujimatsu, and Gifu car body manufacturing factories will be halted. It is expected that the transportation network will also be impacted. All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines have canceled some flights, and the operator of the Nishi-Nihon Expressway is urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel as roads may be closed.
