The Spring Festival transport in the Yangtze River Delta is expected to exceed 100 million passengers for the first time.

According to China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd., the 2026 Spring Festival transportation plan for the Yangtze River Delta Railway was recently issued. It is estimated that during the 40-day Spring Festival travel period, the number of passengers is expected to exceed 100 million for the first time, reaching 1.03 billion, an increase of 4% compared to the Spring Festival in 2025. It is reported that the Yangtze River Delta Railway department plans to increase the number of passenger trains by 437.5 pairs during the Spring Festival travel period based on the peak operation timetable. During the peak period, there will be more than 1,700 pairs of passenger trains running on a single day to actively respond to the large passenger flow during the Spring Festival travel period.
