According to the "Daily Debt Monitor Report" of US Congressman David Schweikert, in the past year, the total amount of US national debt has been increasing at a rate of $71,884.09 per second. As of January 9th, US national debt has reached $38.4 trillion. According to calculations by the Peterson Foundation, from January 17, 2025 to January 15, 2026, the US federal government's national debt increased by about $2.25 trillion. Deutsche Bank and other institutions have recently pointed out that the continuously rising debt burden of the United States is its "Achilles' heel," which may make the dollar and the overall economy more vulnerable to shocks, especially in the case of escalating geopolitical tensions and trade wars.
