Tin Industry Branch: China's imports of tin concentrates are expected to increase by about 2% in 2025, and tin trade will show a net export.

On January 21, the Tin Branch of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association issued a statement, stating that according to data released by the Chinese customs and the calculation by Antaike, in December 2025, China's imported tin concentrate physical quantity was 17,637 tons, equivalent to 5,191.6 tons of metal, an increase of 13.3% month-on-month and 40.2% year-on-year. In terms of tin trade, both imports and exports of refined tin increased in December. Imports totaled 1,548 tons, up 29.5% month-on-month but down 48.2% year-on-year. As of 2025, China imported a total of 19,000 tons of refined tin, a decrease of 10.7% year-on-year; and exported a total of 23,000 tons of refined tin, an increase of 32.3% year-on-year, resulting in a net export of nearly 3,500 tons of refined tin for the whole year.
