Brazil initiates an anti-dumping sunset review investigation on pencils from China.

On January 20th, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services issued Announcement No. 4 of 2026, initiating the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on pencils for writing, drawing and/or coloring originating from China, in response to applications submitted by Brazilian domestic companies by July 31, 2025. The NCM (Mercosur Common Nomenclature) code for the products under investigation is 9609.10.00. The anti-dumping investigation period is from April 2024 to March 2025, and the injury investigation period is from April 2020 to March 2025. The announcement will come into effect as of the date of its publication.
