According to statistics from Haikou Customs, from December 18, 2025 to January 17, 2026, Haikou Customs supervised a total of 48.6 billion yuan in duty-free shopping, representing a 46.8% increase compared to the previous year; there were 745,000 shopping trips, up 30.2% from last year; and 3.494 million items were purchased, up 14.6% from last year. Consumer enthusiasm for shopping is soaring, showcasing the vibrant vitality of the duty-free market on the island.
