The wave of price increases in storage chips may continue until 2026.
The price surge of storage chips has continued from 2025 to 2026, and is currently still rising. The journalist found through the installation assistant mini-program that prices of multiple memory options have soared in the past 90 days. For example, the price of the 32GDDR5 6000 Pallas memory from Acer's Predator series was around 1300 yuan in October 2025, but skyrocketed to around 2700 yuan by January 14, 2026. Recent reports indicate that American companies like Google and Microsoft are urgently dispatching purchasing agents to Seoul to compete for the increasingly scarce supply of DRAM chips without considering cost. The journalist noted that the current wave of storage chip price increases has also spread to the midstream packaging and testing industry in the supply chain, with downstream manufacturers continuing to be under pressure and showing some differentiation. Interviewees believe that this round of storage chip price increases is not simply a "cyclical rebound", but a result of the resonance between cyclical factors and industry structure upgrades from last year to this year. Regarding the future price trends of storage chips, interviewees and institutions both believe that prices will continue to rise in 2026, with economic prosperity at least continuing into the first half of 2026, and there is a growing consensus in the market that economic prosperity will continue beyond 2026.
