Shanghai's foreign trade import and export value in 2025 increased by 5.6% year-on-year, with the "new three articles" seeing a rise against the trend.

According to Shanghai Customs, in 2025, the total foreign trade import and export value of Shanghai reached 4.51 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.6% over the previous year. Among them, exports were 2.02 trillion yuan, a significant increase of 10.8%; imports were 2.49 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.8%. The total value of imports and exports, exports, and imports all reached historical highs. The "new three items" representing high-end manufacturing have surged against the trend, with exports reaching 156.67 billion yuan. Among them, the export scale of electric vehicles exceeded 100 billion yuan, especially the export of hybrid vehicles increased by nearly 1.5 times. Some leading industries have formed a leading edge in exports, with exports of high-end machine tools increasing by nearly 30%, industrial robots exports increasing by over 40%, and surgical robots exports showing explosive growth of 3.7 times, indicating that Shanghai manufacturing is accelerating towards "Shanghai intelligent manufacturing".
