Data released by the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism on the 15th showed that the number of international tourists received by Spain in 2025 increased by 3.5% over the previous year, reaching 97 million, an all-time high. The data also showed that in 2025, international tourist spending in Spain increased by 6.8% over the previous year, reaching a record high of 135 billion euros. The tourism industry's contribution to employment is further evident. In December last year, the number of people employed in the Spanish tourism-related industries increased by 2.4% year-on-year, reaching 2.75 million, also reaching a record high. The Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism predicts that the tourism industry in Spain will continue to maintain its growth momentum in 2026. According to forecasts, in the first four months of this year, Spain will receive 26 million international tourists, an increase of 3.7% over the same period last year; international tourist spending will reach 35 billion euros, an increase of 2.6% year-on-year.
