Chali responds to "two billion unpaid salaries": the issue of unpaid salaries for resigning employees is being resolved in batches, and the core business of bagged tea at the company remains in normal operation.
Guangzhou Chali Group Co., Ltd. issued a statement on January 14. The statement pointed out that due to the previous strategic decision-making error in the bottled tea beverage business, our company terminated this business at the end of 2024 and closed the related business units, which led to financial turnover pressure, resulting in delayed payment of employee salaries, delayed settlement of supplier payments, and also faced chain reactions such as bank withdrawals and partner withdrawals. Facing the difficulties, we have never shied away from responsibility: with the support of government relief and stability policies, we have completed the payment of the vast majority of outstanding salaries for employees in the past year; for the issue of outstanding salaries for former employees, we are currently working to resolve it in batches, and will sync progress with employees regularly. Currently, the company's core business of bagged tea remains in normal operation, the factory is operating at full capacity, and all-channel sales and shipments are not affected.
