On the 11th local time, Venezuela's acting President Rodriguez delivered a speech during a video conference with journalists, reiterating that the current Venezuelan government's three core goals include maintaining national peace, rescuing President Maduro and the First Lady, and defending the political rights of the Venezuelan government. Rodriguez emphasized that the government is firmly committed to achieving these three goals, and will steadily move in that direction through tactical measures, therefore calling on all Venezuelan people to unite, trust the government leadership, and strengthen national unity. In the early hours of January 3, the United States launched large-scale military strikes against Venezuela, forcibly controlling President Maduro and his wife and taking them to the United States. This military operation resulted in at least 100 deaths. Rodriguez was sworn in as acting President on the 5th at the National Assembly of Venezuela.
