Hong Kong media: The Hong Kong Education Bureau has confirmed the cancellation of a teacher-student delegation's trip to Japan.
Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae's remarks and actions related to Taiwan have attracted widespread attention and strong criticism from both China and Japan as well as the international community. According to a report from the Ming Pao news website in Hong Kong on the 22nd, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government's Education Bureau confirmed to the newspaper that they have withdrawn from this year's "21st Century East Asian Youth Exchange Program" organized by the Japanese government for safety reasons, which means canceling the exchange of middle school students to Japan next month. The report said that a delegation of teachers and students selected by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was originally scheduled to participate in the "21st Century East Asian Youth Exchange Program" in Japan from December 7th to 13th. The Bureau replied to the Ming Pao news website's inquiry on November 21st that Hong Kong will withdraw from this year's program and cited the increasing trend of incidents in which Chinese citizens were attacked in Japan as the reason for the careful consideration and subsequent withdrawal to ensure the safety of teachers and students.
