The stock of seeds in the Chenshan Center of the National Important Wild Plant Germplasm Resources Repository has exceeded one billion.
Recently, after the staff confirmed the count, the total number of full seeds stored in the Chenshan Center of the National Important Wild Plant Germplasm Resources Bank has exceeded 100 million, marking an important progress in the relocation and conservation of wild plant germplasm resources in the East China region. It is reported that since September 2017, the Chenshan Center has officially carried out systematic seed collection and preservation work in the East China region. These over 100 million seeds were collected from 100 counties in 45 cities of 17 provinces across the country, all from wild plants, covering 1950 species from 785 genera in 159 families, including 323 species unique to China and 68 rare and endangered plants.
