Secretary-General Cui Dongshu of the China Passenger Car Association stated in a document on November 17 that in October, the total retail sales of consumer goods in China reached 4.6291 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period last year. Of this, the amount spent on automobiles was 425.5 billion yuan, a decrease of 7% year-on-year, while the retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobiles reached 4.2036 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.0%. From January to October, the total retail sales of consumer goods in China reached 41.2169 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.3%. Of this, the amount spent on automobiles was 4.0009 trillion yuan, a decrease of 0.2% year-on-year, while the retail sales of consumer goods excluding automobiles reached 37.216 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.9%.
