During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the total output of the nuclear power industry in Shanghai has maintained an annual double-digit growth rate.

The 2025 Nuclear Power Technology Innovation Forum with the theme of "Innovative Technologies for the Fourth Generation Nuclear Power" was held in Shanghai on November 15th, and the Shanghai Nuclear Power Industry's "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" was also released. The Shanghai Nuclear Power Office revealed at this forum that during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the total output of the Shanghai nuclear power industry has maintained double-digit growth annually, innovative resources continue to converge, breakthroughs have been made in demonstration projects such as the "Guohe-1" and high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, the nuclear power industry workforce is steadily expanding, and the nuclear power industry ecosystem is increasingly complete, making it a leading center for nuclear power industry development in China. Looking ahead to the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan", the Shanghai nuclear power industry will accelerate the construction of a "3+" modern industrial system as its support, continuously promote the high-quality development of the Shanghai nuclear power industry. By the end of the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan", the core competitiveness of the Shanghai nuclear power industry is expected to rank among the top globally, becoming the core carrier area for the high-quality development of the national nuclear industry and leading the coordinated development of the nuclear industry in the Yangtze River Delta.
