Russia negotiates with the International Atomic Energy Agency on the safety of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant's power supply.
The Russian state nuclear energy company reported on the 14th that the General Director of the Russian state nuclear energy company, Likhachov, held talks with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Grosi, in Kaliningrad, discussing the restoration of external power supply to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant after the maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines. They also discussed the rotation arrangement of International Atomic Energy Agency experts at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Likhachov stated that Russia plans to issue operational and maintenance licenses for reactors 1 and 2 of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant this year. On the same day, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant announced that a transmission line supplying power to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant had been disconnected due to the automatic protection system being triggered. Currently, the power demand of the nuclear power plant itself is being supplied by another line, and staff are monitoring the situation.
