In October, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol decreased by 1.6% year-on-year, contributing to a decrease of approximately 0.46 percentage points in the CPI. Among food items, the prices of eggs decreased by 11.6%, leading to a decline of approximately 0.08 percentage points in the CPI; the prices of meat decreased by 7.4%, resulting in a decrease of approximately 0.23 percentage points in the CPI, with pork prices falling by 16.0% and affecting a decrease of approximately 0.23 percentage points in the CPI; vegetable prices dropped by 7.3%, causing a decrease of approximately 0.18 percentage points in the CPI; fruit prices decreased by 2.0%, leading to a decrease of approximately 0.04 percentage points in the CPI; grain prices decreased by 0.7%, resulting in a decrease of approximately 0.01 percentage points in the CPI; and the prices of aquatic products increased by 2.0%, leading to an increase of approximately 0.04 percentage points in the CPI. The prices of the other seven categories increased by six and decreased by one year-on-year. Among them, prices of other goods and services, household goods and services, and clothing increased by 12.8%, 1.9%, and 1.7% respectively, while prices of medical care, education, culture, entertainment, and housing increased by 1.4%, 0.9%, and 0.1% respectively; prices of transportation and communication decreased by 1.5%.
