Brazilian factory produces a Chinese phone every 20 seconds. Chinese phones are being promoted for local production in Brazil.
Chinese smartphones are selling well in many countries in Latin America, with "strong intelligence, high configuration, and sufficient innovation" being their common bright business cards. As the largest single market in Latin America, the shipment volume of smartphones in Brazil has exceeded 40 million units in 2024. The competition in this market is particularly fierce, with many international giants long taking the lead in market share.
In order to gain recognition in the Brazilian market, Chinese smartphone brands have established partnerships with local companies, promoted localization production, not only reducing production costs but also enjoying local tax incentives, and enhancing the local consumers' sense of identity with the brand. In recent years, Chinese brand smartphones are gradually expanding their market share in Brazil with deep localization operations and differentiated competitive strategies.
JOVI is a sub-brand established by the Chinese brand vivo specifically for the Brazilian market. With its production base in the Manaus Free Trade Zone in northern Brazil, JOVI has been operating in collaboration with local partners. Localized production not only creates job opportunities for locals but also cultivates a group of local technical talents. Currently, industrial worker training has been completed, and production lines have achieved stable mass production. It is understood that the two production lines that have been put into operation have a peak monthly production capacity of 100,000 units, with the ability to produce 1.2 million smartphones in a year, averaging one smartphone coming off the production line every 22.5 seconds.
