The transition from planned economy to market economy has achieved landmark results in the construction of a nationwide unified electricity market.

According to the National Energy Administration, with the continuous settlement trial operation of the electricity spot market in Chongqing, Qinghai, and Sichuan provinces in early November, the spot markets of 28 provinces have all entered into continuous operation. China's electricity production organization has fully transitioned from planned to market-based, and significant progress has been made in the construction of a unified national electricity market.
