Director General of the General Administration of Customs Sun Meijun led a delegation to visit Peru.
From October 30th to November 2nd, the Director General of the General Administration of Customs of China, Sun Meijun, led a Chinese customs delegation to visit Peru. During the visit, Sun Meijun met with the Director General of the Peruvian Customs and Tax Authority, Franco, to discuss topics such as advancing mutual assistance in customs administrative law enforcement, Shanghai-Qiankai customs inter-cooperation, smart customs construction, combating smuggling, and capacity building, and signed two customs cooperation documents. He also met with the Minister of Agriculture Development and Irrigation of Peru, Kuno, to exchange views on cooperation in animal and plant health and food safety between China and Peru, as well as the export of Peruvian agricultural products to China, and signed three customs inspection and quarantine cooperation documents. Additionally, there was a courtesy meeting with the Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, Miralles, to discuss customs, economic, and trade cooperation between China and Peru. During the visit, they also conducted on-site inspections of Peruvian agricultural food enterprises, the International Potato Center, and engaged in work exchanges with the Chinese Ambassador to Peru, Song Yang.
