In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, on November 1st, the National Food and Material Reserves Administration held an expert symposium on the "14th Five-Year Plan" in the food sector. Liu Huanxin, member of the Party Group of the National Development and Reform Commission and Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the National Food and Material Reserves Administration, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. The experts at the meeting combined their study and implementation of the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on major issues such as the external environment, supply and demand situation, development goals, and main tasks in the food sector during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and put forward many constructive suggestions. Liu Huanxin emphasized that the "14th Five-Year Plan" period is a key period for laying a solid foundation for basically achieving socialist modernization and making overall efforts, and it plays an important role in promoting the process of basically achieving socialist modernization. The "Suggestions of the CPC Central Committee on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development", which was deliberated and passed at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the explanation made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the "Suggestions" to the plenary session, have provided clear directions and scientific guidance for the compilation of the "14th Five-Year Plan" in the food sector. Liu Huanxin demanded that we should thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, deeply understand the strategic deployment of the Party Central Committee to ensure national food security, and solidly carry out the compilation of the "14th Five-Year Plan" in the food sector. We should scientifically assess the stage characteristics of the food sector during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and put forward practical, forward-looking, targeted, instructive, and operational ideas and measures. We should pool wisdom, fully listen to opinions and suggestions from all sides, and revise and improve the development plan for food and material reserves during the "14th Five-Year Plan".
