On October 28th to 29th, a symposium on the coordinated development of agriculture and rural areas was held in Wujin District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The meeting called for a thorough plan for the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the coordinated development of agriculture and rural areas, clarifying the main focus and key tasks for each region, and jointly promoting the effective implementation of various tasks. In the Yangtze River Delta region, it is essential to firmly implement the ten-year fishing ban in the Yangtze River, promote innovation and integration of agricultural science and technology industries, deepen the institutional mechanisms for integrated development, and play a leading role in exploring new paths. In the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the focus should be on optimizing industrial layout, strengthening joint efforts in agricultural science and technology research, working together to create platforms, and accelerating the modernization process of agriculture and rural areas. In the northeast region, it is important to consolidate and improve comprehensive food production capacity, strengthen the protection of black soil, develop modern large-scale agriculture, and play a key role in ensuring national food security. In the central region, the key is to enhance the capacity for stable food production and supply, jointly promote disaster prevention, reduction, and mitigation, promote the coordinated development of rural industries, and strengthen the position of important grain production bases. In the Chengdu-Chongqing region, the focus should be on expanding and strengthening distinctive industrial clusters, vigorously cultivating new agricultural production forces, jointly building distinctive and beautiful rural areas, and creating a model of modern regional agricultural cooperation. Agricultural and rural departments from provinces and some cities and counties in the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Northeast, Central, and Chengdu-Chongqing regions, as well as relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the meeting. Relevant members of the Executive Committee of the Yangtze River Delta Ecological Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone also attended the meeting.
