In the first three quarters, a total of 310 million kilowatts of new installed capacity of renewable energy was added nationwide, representing a year-on-year increase of 47.7%.
At a press conference held by the National Energy Administration today, it was revealed that in the first three quarters, China's renewable energy installed capacity continued to expand, and the energy structure continued to optimize. The latest data shows that in the first three quarters, the country's renewable energy installed a capacity of 310 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 47.7%, accounting for approximately 84.4% of the total new installed capacity. Among them, hydroelectric power increased by 7.16 million kilowatts, wind power increased by 61.09 million kilowatts, solar power increased by 2.4 billion kilowatts, and biomass power generation increased by 1.05 million kilowatts. By the end of September, the country's renewable energy installed capacity reached 2.198 billion kilowatts. At the same time, renewable energy power generation has been steadily increasing. In the first three quarters, the country's renewable energy power generation reached 2.89 trillion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 15.5% year-on-year, accounting for about 40% of the total power generation and about 60% of industrial electricity consumption during the same period. The combined wind and solar power generation reached 1.73 trillion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 22% of the total electricity consumption in the entire society, an increase of 4.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
