In the first three quarters, the procuratorial organs filed charges against a total of 1,053,000 criminal suspects.
According to the Supreme People's Procuratorate, from January to September this year, the national procuratorial organs approved the arrest of a total of 519,600 criminal suspects and filed public prosecutions against 1.053 million people, representing a decrease of 12.9% and 11.7% respectively compared to the same period last year. The procuratorial organs resolutely safeguard national security and social stability, and severely crack down on hostile forces engaging in infiltration, sabotage, subversion, and separatist activities, firmly defending the security of the state power, system, and ideology in accordance with the law. They strictly punish serious violent crimes such as intentional homicide, robbery, and kidnapping, with prosecutions of 39,800 people, a decrease of 10.8% compared to last year. They maintain the fight against organized crime on a regular basis, prosecuting 6,901 individuals involved in such criminal activities and 47 individuals acting as "protective umbrellas". They also prosecute 367,000 individuals involved in crimes such as "yellow, gambling, drugs", theft, robbery, and fraud. Efforts are increased to combat crimes endangering production safety, with prosecutions of 3,292 individuals involved in major accidents and dangerous operations. They also advance the governance of the internet according to law. Special plans to promote internet governance have been formulated, resulting in the prosecution of 136,000 individuals who committed crimes using the internet, including 49,000 involved in telecom network fraud. They coordinate efforts to combat special operations related to telecommunication fraud in the Northern region of Myanmar, guiding local procuratorial organs to prosecute criminal groups in the Bai, Liu, and Wei families in Northern Myanmar according to the law. Crimes such as online violence, "internet water armies" spreading rumors and manipulating opinion through extortion are also punished according to the law, using the power of the rule of law to maintain a clean online environment. Prosecutions were carried out against 1,451 individuals who committed crimes involving the infringement of citizens' personal information, and 3,217 public interest litigations were handled to protect personal privacy and information security. A comprehensive approach is taken to promote social stability. The implementation of opinions on handling cases of driving under the influence is deepened, with the acceptance and prosecution of 196,000 individuals involved in dangerous driving crimes, resulting in prosecutions against 177,000 individuals, representing a decrease of 21.7% and 16.4% respectively compared to the same period last year. Prosecutions were also carried out against 79,000 individuals involved in concealing crimes, and 26,000 individuals aiding criminals, representing decreases of 16.3% and 60.2% respectively compared to the same period last year.
