National Development and Reform Commission: Various policies continue to take effect and show results, having confidence and ability to achieve the annual economic and social development goals.
Li Chao, Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission and spokesperson, stated at a press conference on October 31 that in the first three quarters of the year, China's economy has withstood pressure and made steady progress, with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growing by 5.2% year-on-year, maintaining a leading position among major global economies and laying a solid foundation for successfully achieving the annual targets. Li Chao expressed confidence in achieving the annual economic and social development goals with the continued effective implementation of various policies. He also mentioned that some international economic organizations have recently raised their expectations for China's economic growth rate, with organizations such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank significantly increasing their predictions for China's economic growth in 2025 compared to their April forecasts by 0.8 percentage points. Moving forward, the National Development and Reform Commission will work with relevant departments to strengthen the preparation and implementation of regular policy research and respond promptly to the situation.
