On Monday, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR (TSM.US) rose over 3% to $425.84. On the news front, according to reports, Samsung Electronics will use Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR's 3nm process to produce base chips for NVIDIA Corporation's next-generation custom high-bandwidth memory (HBM), marking the first time Samsung will collaborate with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR in the HBM manufacturing stage. Sources said NVIDIA Corporation has asked Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology, Inc. to use Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR's process to manufacture NVHBM base chips and to use sixth-generation DRAM technology to manufacture core chips. Samsung is said to have accepted NVIDIA Corporation's request after an internal review but plans to retain its in-house production model for manufacturing standard HBM and custom products for other customers. This means Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR will jointly develop 3nm-process base dies, with the ultimate goal of producing standardized products, thereby reducing the quality verification steps for NVHBM. NVIDIA Corporation previously said its self-developed NVHBM solution can deliver 30% higher memory bandwidth than standard HBM4E while reducing power consumption by 15%. However, to realize these advantages, NVIDIA Corporation must ensure standardization among its memory suppliers. On October 15, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR reported third-quarter revenue of NT$1.49424 trillion, up 50.9% year-over-year, with net profit up 68.7% year-over-year; the company raised its 2026 USD revenue growth forecast to about 44% and said demand remains higher than supply.
