In July 2026, the national power trading institutions completed a trading volume of 740.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 18.5% year-on-year.
On August 27, data from the National Energy Administration indicated that in July 2026, national electricity trading institutions completed a transaction volume of 740.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 18.5% year-on-year. In terms of trading scope, the intra-provincial transaction volume was 549.1 billion kilowatt-hours, up 19.0% year-on-year; the inter-provincial and inter-regional transaction volume was 191.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 17.2% year-on-year. In terms of trading varieties, the medium and long-term transaction volume was 678.6 billion kilowatt-hours; the spot transaction volume was 61.8 billion kilowatt-hours. The green electricity transaction volume reached 27.7 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 2.7%. The electricity purchase volume through market-oriented agency procurement by grid companies was 87.2 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to July 2026, national electricity trading institutions cumulatively completed a transaction volume of 4,425.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 23.4% year-on-year. In terms of trading scope, the intra-provincial transaction volume was 3,462.6 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 26.8% year-on-year; the inter-provincial and inter-regional transaction volume was 962.6 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 12.5% year-on-year. In terms of trading varieties, the medium and long-term transaction volume was 3,935.4 billion kilowatt-hours; the spot transaction volume was 489.8 billion kilowatt-hours. The green electricity transaction volume was 191.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.6%. The electricity purchase volume through market-oriented agency procurement by grid companies was 485.7 billion kilowatt-hours.
