Jian Tao's afternoon gains have widened. As of the time of writing, Jian Tao Laminated Board (01888) is up 12.34%, trading at HKD 34.96; Jian Tao Group (00148) is up 8.42%, trading at HKD 45.58.
As of the time of publication, the current midday increase of Kington Group has expanded, with KB LAMINATES (01888) up by 12.34% at HKD 34.96; KINGBOARD HLDG (00148) up by 8.42% at HKD 45.58. On the news front, Citigroup cited SCI99 data indicating that the average prices of three major electronic cloth series1080, 2116, and 7628rose by 17%-18% month-on-month in August, reaching RMB 13.1 per meter, RMB 12.7 per meter, and RMB 10.1 per meter respectively. The year-to-date cumulative increase has reached as high as 118%-165%. The absolute increase per meter for the month is approximately RMB 1.5-2.0, marking the highest level since the beginning of the year and reflecting a more severe supply-demand tension in the industry compared to before. Citigroup pointed out that costs are rapidly being passed on to the copper-clad laminate (CCL) segment, and a new round of price hikes has begun. Analysts noted that the sharp rise in electronic cloth prices in August is a strong catalyst for KB LAMINATES' performance, and its integrated industrial chain positions it as a core beneficiary of the current fiberglass price hike, with increased volume and price likely to unlock profit potential. KINGBOARD HLDG, as the holding parent company, purely benefits from the performance and stock price increases of its subsidiary.
