Mobix Labs (MOBX.US) plans to acquire the American military drone manufacturer Vision Aerial, and the positive news has pushed its stock price up significantly.
Mobix Labs (MOBX.US) has signed a legally binding letter of intent to acquire the drone manufacturing company Vision Aerial based in Montana. The favorable news has caused their stock price to soar, although as of the time of this report, the stock's increase has narrowed to 14%.
The specific financial terms of this acquisition deal have not been disclosed to the public.
Founded in 2013, Vision Aerial specializes in the research, development, and production of special mission-grade drones and related services. Their products are used in various fields such as national defense, public security, infrastructure inspection, geographic mapping, energy exploration, environmental monitoring, and modern agriculture.
The company's end customers include the United States Air Force, United States Navy, United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, defense giant L3Harris (LHX.US), Marathon Oil Corporation (MRO.US), DTE Energy Company (DTE.US), Northwestern Energy (NWE.US), as well as several top scientific research universities.
The founding team and core management of the target company will sign multi-year service agreements to continue their roles, and the production lines will also remain in the United States.
Through this acquisition, Mobix Labs is officially positioning itself in the rapidly expanding global drone market and it is the latest move in line with the company's previously disclosed development strategy of focusing on key areas and driving growth through acquisitions.
