"Wood Sister" Wood aggressively increased their holdings in Alphabet Inc. Class C, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL.US), with a total purchase of over 260,000 shares across four funds.
"Wood Sister" Wood doubles down on large tech stocks.
"Wood Sister" Wood once again increased its holdings of large technology stocks. According to the latest disclosed trading data, ARK Invest, a subsidiary of Wood, significantly increased its holdings of Alphabet Inc. Class C's parent company, Alphabet (GOOG.US, GOOGL.US), on June 3, becoming the largest buying target of the day.
The data shows that ARK purchased a total of 267,582 shares of Alphabet Class A and C stock through its four funds: ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK.US), ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ.US), ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW.US), and ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF (ARKX.US).
This concentrated buying occurred shortly after Alphabet received a $10 billion strategic investment from Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A.US, BRK.B.US). Previously, Berkshire Hathaway announced its participation in Alphabet's over $80 billion financing deal, which was seen by the market as an important recognition of its prospects in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital advertising.
Meanwhile, Alphabet continues to increase its investment in AI infrastructure. The company stated in its first-quarter earnings conference call that it expects capital expenditures to reach $180 to $190 billion by 2026, with further substantial growth expected in 2027 compared to 2026.
It is widely believed that as Alphabet Inc. Class C continues to expand its AI data center construction, accelerate the deployment of TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) chips, and promote the commercialization of generative AI products, Alphabet is expected to be one of the important beneficiaries of this wave of AI infrastructure investment.
In addition to Alphabet Inc. Class C, ARK also continued to increase its holdings of Alibaba Group Holding Limited Sponsored ADR (BABA.US) and Meta (META.US) on the same day. Specifically, ARKK purchased 30,273 shares of Alibaba Group Holding Limited Sponsored ADR stock and increased its holdings of Meta stock by 5,608 shares.
However, while increasing holdings of some tech giants, ARK continued to reduce its holdings of chip stock AMD (AMD.US). The data shows that the company sold a total of 74,838 shares of AMD stock on that day.
