On April 13th, the Ministry of Transport issued a notice on promoting the establishment of a mechanism for coordinated adjustment of oil prices and freight rates on online freight platforms. It pointed out the establishment of a mechanism for coordinated adjustment of oil prices and freight rates. For the matching platforms and carriers engaged in trunk freight business, the adjustment of freight rates should be coordinated with the changes in the national average of the maximum retail prices of gasoline and diesel (calculated as the arithmetic average of the maximum retail prices of gasoline and diesel in regions implementing a one-province-one-price policy); for the matching platforms engaged in urban freight business, the adjustment of freight rates should be coordinated with the changes in the maximum retail prices of gasoline and diesel in the cities where the business is conducted. The adjustment targets include all operational freight vehicles that have received orders on the platform. Provincial transportation authorities should guide online freight platforms in their jurisdictions to conduct coordinated adjustments of freight rates with the monthly changes in the maximum retail prices of gasoline and diesel. The adjustment of freight rates is based on the cumulative monthly adjustment ratio of the maximum retail prices of gasoline and diesel, taking into account the components of total transportation costs such as gasoline and diesel costs, toll charges, labor costs, insurance costs, depreciation costs, and appropriate profits.
