According to reports, Jeff Bezos' artificial intelligence (AI) laboratory is raising billions of dollars for acquiring industrial enterprises affected by AI technology. The founder of Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) believes that this technological revolution will reshape the entire industrial sector, and this large-scale financing is meant to seize the opportunities within it. Sources familiar with the matter cited in the report stated that the valuation of the institution from this funding is around $30 billion, a figure that has not yet considered the additional investment in this round. It was reported last year that Bezos will serve as the co-CEO of a startup called "Project Prometheus." The project focuses on AI research in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, computers, automobiles, and spacecraft. This is also the first time since stepping down as CEO of Amazon.com, Inc. in July 2021 that Bezos has taken on an official operational management position in a company. While he is involved in the affairs of the Blue Origin space company, his official title in that company is only founder. The report states that Project Prometheus is in preliminary talks with several large sovereign wealth funds, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, for investment in its holding company. In addition, Bezos is also discussing investment matters with Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase. The related funds may come from the "Security and Resiliency Initiative Fund," with a scale of up to $10 billion, aimed at strengthening the supply chain of critical industries in the United States. Currently, there has been no response from Bezos' side to requests for comments. The co-founders of the project, Sergil Ozayir and William Gus, have also not been able to respond to comment invitations sent via LinkedIn outside of working hours.
